Happy New Year from your friends at The Golden Closet! 2010 is already upon us and we are pleased to announce more new additions to our collection of high quality entertainment memorabilia. Information on select wardrobe, props, and music related items can be found below.

Michael Jackson fans now have the opportunity to purchase rare and iconic wardrobe pieces the pop legend wore on stage, during recording sessions, and in well-documented public appearances. These items will all be featured in the upcoming Gotta Have It Auction to be held online from February 22nd to Mar. 3rd, 2010. Included in the auction will be numerous custom made outfits and garments that captured Mr. Jackson’s constantly evolving look and style over the course of his legendary career, from the 1984 Jacksons Victory Tour to the recently published Michael Jackson retrospective memorial book “Opus”. There are also several other Michael Jackson items currently available for sale directly through our website at this time.

Additional new music memorabilia items will also be featured in the auction and include stage / video worn garments used by such performers as Fergie, Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry, Madonna, and many more. THE GOLDEN CLOSET NEW MUSIC ITEMS

Other new acquisitions include a screen used shirt worn by actor Steve McQueen in “Tom Horn”. The shirt was custom made for the actor by Western Costume Company and is in excellent condition with original tailoring label sewn in the interior. We are also pleased to announce the recent arrival of Kevin Costner wardrobe worn in the epic film “Wyatt Earp”. Several of the garments in this ensemble were worn during the climactic canyon shootout sequence near the end of the film and were also featured on posters, DVD jackets, and other promotional materials for the film. Another new addition to our collection is a screen used wicker hat worn by “Thunder” portrayed by Carter Wong in John Carpenter’s 1996 cult classic “Big Trouble in Little China” starring Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall. THUNDER (JAMES WONG) WICKER HAT WORN IN “BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA”

In the world of props, we are proud to offer a non-firing prop pistol used by actor Nicolas Cage in the gritty 1999 thriller “8MM” also starring Joaquin Pheonix and James Gandolfini. The gun was used in numerous scenes from the film and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the weapons coordinator who worked on the production. We have also recently added several more screen used guns utilized by principle characters from HBO’s hit series “The Sopranos”, a complete custom suit worn by late actor Raul Julia in “Addams Family Values”, and additional items from films like “Dick Tracy”, “Dreamgirls”, and other favorites.
