Christie’s Pop Culture Auction Result News

The Christies Pop Culture Auction on June 25th was a resounding success. The Golden Closet was proud to have worked with Mr. James Gandolfini to help benefit The Wounded Warrior Project, a worthwhile charity devoted to providing assistance to disabled American military veterans and their families.

Mr. Gandolfini’s appearance at the event generated considerable excitement amongst the bidders and his wardrobe sold for $187,750 (including buyer’s premium). The Golden Closet donated 25% of the sale of its Sopranos wardrobe to the WWP on the behalf of the Sopranos cast and crew.

The highlight of the auction was the sale of the “bloody” outfit worn in the scene where Tony was shot by Uncle Junior, which sold for $43,750. The second largest sale was that of Tony’s signature look, the striped bathrobe, tank top, boxers, and Bostonion scuffs, which sold for $21,250.
