| This prison uniform was worn by the character “Paul Crewe” portrayed by actor Burt Reynolds in the 1974 motion picture “The Longest Yard”. Mr. Reynolds wore the pair of pants in multiple scenes throughout the picture; the shirt was made for Mr. Reynolds but ultimately not worn in the final version of the film.
This uniform consists of a white short sleeve shirt with patch pocket, blue trim on the collar, and white pants with blue side stripes. Both garments have the original “State Prison” and Prisoner # “61394” stamped on the back as seen in the film. Internal Paramount cleaning tags are located in both garments.
Part of the film was shot on location at the Georgia State Penitentiary in Reedsville, Georgia. Costume supervisor, Charlie James, prepped for two weeks inside the prison and commissioned the inmates serving time to make the prison uniforms for the film.
This costume is in good screen used condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
