| This white 1960’s crochet dress was worn by the character Deena Jones portrayed by singer Beyonce Knowles in the 2006 motion picture adaptation of the award winning Broadway musical “Dreamgirls” starring Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy. Ms. Knowles can be viewed wearing the garment during the scene where Deena sits in a projection room alone watching assorted footage of herself and her group “The Dreams”, and a segment runs of her eating cake and drinking champagne on her wedding day with her manager/husband Curtis Taylor Junior (portrayed by Foxx).
The dress was acquired directly from the wardrobe house that supplied the garment for use in the production and is in excellent screen worn condition with original costumer’s hold tag attached listing character name and production information. “Dreamgirls” won several Oscars in 2007, including Best Achievement in Costume Design for Sharen Davis’s work on the film. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
