| This cream suit jacket with brown and black flecking by Albert of Beverly Hills was worn by the character "Winifred Stanley" portrayed by actress Alexis Smith in Frank Capra’s 1951 motion picture “Here Comes The Groom” starring Bing Crosby and Jane Wyman. Ms. Smith wore the garment during the sequence where Emmadel (played by Wyman) comes downstairs in her ball gown to greet her fiance’s family and Winifred. After discovering that her old flame Peter Garvey (played by Crosby) has been hired to work at the estate, Emmadel races across the estate to confront him. Winifred attempts to follow in close pursuit, secretly hoping that the encounter will lead to the termination of the pending marriage to Emmadel’s fiancé who she is secretly in love with.
The garment is in very good screen worn condition with the original Paramount Pictures costumer’s label sewn inside with the actress’s name handwritten in slightly faded ink.
“Here Comes The Groom” won an Oscar for Best Music in 1952. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
