This flightsuit was worn by the character “Maxim Brajolvsky” portrayed by actor Elya Baskin in the 1984 motion picture “2010”. This green flight suit was custom made for Mr. Baskin with an elastic waist, zipper front, two flap pockets, two breast zip pockets, shoulder pockets, and the bottom of the jumpsuit has four zip and one snap pocket. Shoulders and arms are slightly faded due to age. Internal Western Costume stamp and a Western Costume Co label with “Elya Baskin” clearly typed in black ink.
Mr. Brajolvsk wears this suit throughout the film, most notably while discussing electrostatic signals coming back from Jupiter’s moon Europa. Dr. Heywood Floyd (Roy Schrieder) suggests that it's a warning. ”2010” is a sequel to “2001: A Space Odyssey”, a joint American-Soviet expedition is sent to Jupiter to discover what went wrong with the U.S.S. Discovery. This garment is in good condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
