This uniform was worn by the character "Alphonse Simms," portrayed by actor Richard Dreyfuss, in the 1988 motion picture, "Moon Over Parador." The two piece military style suit consists of a navy blue jacket with gold buttons and trim on the cuffs and a pair of matching pants with gold side stripes. The interior of the outfit has the actor's name "R. Dreyfus" (sic) handwritten in slightly faded black ink.
Mr. Dreyfuss wore the uniform in several scenes from the film, most notably during the sequence where President Simms attends a beauty pageant and talks to Miss San Parador. "Moon Over Parador," starring Richard Dreyfuss, Raul Julia, and Sonia Braga was nominated for two Golden Globe awards in 1989.
