This wool taupe British Military uniform was worn by Signe Hasso as “General Katrina Grimovitch” in the 1947 motion picture “Where There’s Life”. The uniform consists of a jacket with gold metal braided epaulets, gold and silver bullion crown shoulder patch, breeches with two slit pockets, boot straps and zip front closure. Internal Paramount label inscribed, “Signe Hasso”, Paramount Pictures Inc. Ladies Wardrobe stamp, and studio cleaning tag. Accompanied by a Taupe wool double breasted overcoat that was not seen in final cut of film with six buttons, two slit pockets, wrist cuffs, peaked lapel, gold and silver bullion crown and leaf arm patch.
Hasso wears this costume when the king is shot and she tries to convince “Michael Valentine” (Bob Hope) that he is the heir to the throne.
This costume is in excellent condition and designed by infamous costume designer Edith Head.
