The two-piece gown is worn by Sally Forest as “Blanche de Maletroit” in “The Strange Door” (Universal International 1951). The rust and pale yellow floral damask sleeveless period gown has a fitted bodice with gathered neckline, trimmed in an orange velvet box pleat and ivory crocheted lace, hook & eye with lace-up back, and semi-full floor length skirt. Internal Universal International label “Sally Forrest” handwritten. Designed by Rosemary Odell. Worn when Richard Stapley signs the marriage agreement. The chiffon sleeves were removed for use by for a background dancer in “Mississippi Gambler” (UNI, 1953).

The garments are in excellent vintage condition and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the costume house.
