BATTLE OF GALACTICA - Colonial Viper Pilot helmet

This Colonial Viper Pilot helmet was used on the set of "Battle of Galactica," which was a theme park ride at California's Universal Studios from 1979 to 1992. The gold and black colored helmet was custom made for use on the production and is constructed of fiberglass with a gold painted flying bird device on the top, interior mouthpiece and speaker attachments, and two rows of non-functional faux light bars inside.

The helmet is virtually identical to those used by background Colonial Viper Pilot helmets on the original Battlestar Galactica series that ran for one season in 1979. The Battle of Galactica was the first themed attraction to feature audio-animatronic characters outside a Disney park, and was the first dark ride to combine sophisticated animatronics and lasers with live actors.

The helmet is in good condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for screen used wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
