This shirt was worn by the character, “Frank Morgan” played by actor John Bromfield in the television series “U.S. Marshal” which aired from 1958 to 1960. This custom made khaki long sleeve shirt has two patch pockets, embroidered button hole at the center top of the left chest pocket, yoke stitching and dance straps. The original “Western Costume Co.” label is sewn onto the inside collar and includes the actor’s name “John Bromfield”, number “2245-1” and size “42”.
Mr. Bromfield can be seen wearing this shirt throughout the series. The item is a signature part of the character’s look and is prominently featured during the title sequence and is featured in promotional stills. Originally, the series was known as “Sheriff of Cochise” (1956-1958) and was later renamed to “US Marshal” for the third and fourth seasons (1958-1960) when the character of Frank Morgan was promoted from Sheriff to Marshal and began working on bigger cases. In total, the combined series had 138 episodes and was produced by Desilu Studios. This item is in good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
