This futuristic tunic was worn by the character Commander Adama portrayed by actor Lorne Greene in the hit television series " Battlestar Galactica”, which ran from 1978 to 1979. The tunic is made of grey speckled tweed with a light green/ grey silk lining. The actor wore the garment in the first season throughout the majority of the episode entitled “The Magnificent Warriors”. In the episode, a Cylon attack has destroyed much of Galactica’s food supply, leading Adama and members of his crew to trade equipment for grain with the natives on a rural planet plagued by the Borays, a group of marauding pig-like creatures. The pants were also custom made especially for Mr. Greene for use in the production and were worn in a separate episode. The Commander Adama character primarily wore his official futuristic fleet commander uniform in nearly every episode of the series, which makes this outfit an extremely rare collectible item from the original classic series. Both garments were acquired directly from the production and are in good screen used condition with some minor evidence of wear that occurred during production. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premiere source for screen used wardrobe, props, and entertainment memorabilia.
