This suit was worn by “Dwayne Schneider” as portrayed by Pat Harrington Jr. in the television series “One Day At A Time”. The two-piece suit by “Academy Clothes” is constructed out of a brown diamond-weave pattern polyester material. The jacket has an oversize lapel, two-button front closure, three flap pockets, faux belt back, matching flat-front pants with two-button closure.

Mr. Harrington wore this suit in several episodes and was his go-to suit for formal occasions. Mr. Harrington wore the suit in Season 4 Episode 19 ‘The Dental Hygenist” when he is on a date with “Cynthia” (Teri Ralston), one of Ann’s (Bonnie Franklin) old friends. After their date, they come into the Cooper residence to announce they are leaving Friday for a cruise and the girls are stunned. Also worn in Season 3 Episode 19 "The Dress Designer", Season 5 Episode 11 "Male Jealousy", Season 5 Episode 26 "The Spirit is Willing", and Season 6 Episode 8 "A Shot in the Dark"

One Day At A Time was an American sitcom developed by Norman Lear broadcasted by CBS from 1975 through 1984. Like so many of Mr. Lear’s productions the series show cased a single working class mother raising her two daughters. Lear including. The show was nominated for 13 Emmy awards, and actress Isabel Sanford who played Louise, won Best Actress in 1981. This item is in good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Costume Designer.

This garment is in good screen worn condition and was acquired directly from the costume designer and head of the wardrobe department for Embassy TV (formerly TAT/Tandem) Betsey Potter.  The department also supplied wardrobe to Sanford and Son, One Day At A Time, Maude, All in the Family, Good Times, The Jeffersons, and other iconic television shows produced by Norman Lear and Embassy TV.
