This costume was made for the character “Daisy Mae” portrayed by actress Leslie Parrish in the 1959 motion picture “Lil Abner”, costarring Stubby Kaye and Peter Palmer. This costume consists of a pink body suit with black stitched red polka dots and zipper rear closure. The black skirt that attaches to the body suit may have not been used for the production.
This costume was made the production, but was ultimately not worn in the final version of the film. Mrs. Parish wears similar costumes throughout the film. “Lil Abner” is a musical comedy based off the original comic strip, created by Al Capp, of the same name.
