This sleeve insignia device was worn by the character “Spock” portrayed by actor Leonard Nimoy in the 1982 motion picture “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” starring William Shatner and Ricardo Montalban. The gold and silver metallic device is attached to a red fabric backing and was custom made for use in the film. Spock wore the insignia on the cuff of his Starfleet Captain’s tunic in numerous scenes throughout the film as he and other members of the Enterprise’s crew battle against their old nemesis “Khan” (Montalban).

“The Wrath of Khan” was the highly anticipated sequel to “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” released in 1979. The film featured all the principle characters from the original television series with Ricardo Montalban reprising his role as Khan from the classic episode “Space Seed” which originally aired on Feb. 16th, 1967. The film received numerous nominations from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror films in 1983, and actor William Shatner received a Saturn Award for Best Actor for his performance as “Admiral James T. Kirk”.

The insignia device was acquired directly from Paramount Studios. The item is in good screen used condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
