This robe was worn by “The Countess” portrayed by Lady Gaga in the fifth installment (Hotel, 2015) of the hit FX anthology series American Horror Story. The floor length burgundy velvet rob has a gathered shawl lapel, fur cuffs and panels down the back with a self belt.

Lady GaGa wears the robe in Season 5 Episode 11"Battle Royale" when The Countess is recovering in her Cortez Hotel penthouse after being shot multiple times by "Iris" (Kathy Bates) and "Liz Taylor" (Denis O'Hare). While recovering in her room, "Ramona Royale" (Angela Bassett) confronts her with the intention of killing "The Countess", but she convinces "Ramona" to spare her life.

American Horror Story: Hotel is the fifth season of the FX horror anthology television series American Horror Story premiering on October 2015. The plot revolves around the enigmatic Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles, California, that catches the eye of an intrepid homicide detective (Wes Bentley). The Cortez is host to the strange and bizarre, spearheaded by its owner, The Countess (Gaga), who is a bloodsucking vampire fashionista.

The hotel is loosely based on an actual hotel built in 1893 by H. H. Holmes in Chicago, Il. for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. The hotel’s floorplan was designed by Holmes to allow for the easy torture, murder and disposal of evidence. This true story became the basis for AHS: Hotel. This season features two murderous threats, the “Ten Commandments Killer”, a serial offender who selects his victims in accordance with biblical teachings, and "the Addiction Demon", who roams the hotel armed with a drill bit dildo.

The dress is in excellent screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
