This suit was worn by the character John Van Horn portrayed by actor George Gaynes in the 1982 motion picture Tootsie, which also starred Bill Murray and Dustin Hoffman. This outfit consists of a charcoal grey two-piece Italian wool suit by “Barneys”, light blue dress shirt, necktie, pocket square, and suspenders. Mr. Gaynes wore this suit when Van Horn discovers that Dorothy (Dustin Hoffman) is not a woman, but a man.
Tootsie received 9 Academy Award nominations including best actor, best director, and best motion picture.
