This bolero jacket was worn by Juan (Tyrone Power) in the 1941 feature film “Blood and Sand”, co-starring Linda Darnell and Rita Hayworth. The tan open weave wool single- breasted bolero jacket has walnut brown velvet trim on the collar, cuffs and bodice. The garment is lined with a tan ribbed satin and has a hook and eye closure. Slit pockets and button decoration line the front to the bodice and both cuffs. The original Western Costume Company label is sewn inside the breast pocket with Tyrone Power (Doub) Size 41 hand written in black fountain pen. In addition, a Palace Costume Co label is sewn below the collar band with “MCS 208” handwritten.

Briefly seen when Dona Sol (Rita Hayworth) playfully races Juan (Tyrone Power) on horseback out of her hacienda and through the forest and fields. Blinded by ego and arrogance, this begins the affair that breaks apart Juan’s marriage to Carmine Espinosa (Linda Darnell). The jacket also is prominently seen while Juan reminisces of his glory days, hanging in a closet with other jackets from his past. This item is accompanied with a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
