This visor was made for the character “Raoul Duke” portrayed by actor Johnny Depp in the 1998 psychedelic classic “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. The vintage green plastic visor has white trim, elastic headband, and include the iconic white “Las Vegas”, slot machine, and dice decals.
“Raoul Duke” can first be seen wearing a version of this visor as he is randomly firing off shots from his .357 into the desert sand. Still wearing the visor, he drives in his newly rented Cadillac to the Flamingo hotel where he plans on attending the “National District Attorneys Conference of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs”. “Raoul” is later seen entering his room still wearing the visor as he is attacked by “Lucy” played by actor Christina Ricci.
Based on Hunter S. Thompson’s seminal classic of the same name. “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” chronicles his wacky search for the “American Dream” by road tripping across the Western United States aided by every known drug to man. This film has earned countless fans and cemented itself in cult status.
The vintage visor is in good condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
