DREAMGIRLS - James 'Thunder' Early (Eddie Murphy) Jeweled Stetson Denim Shirt

This denim shirt was worn by the character "James 'Thunder' Early," portrayed by Eddie Murphy, in the 2006 musical film, "Dreamgirls." The denim Stetson shirt is embellished with opalescent, blue, yellow, and orange jewels across the back, shoulders, pockets, and cuffs. The front closure, breast pockets and cuffs have silver and black hexagonal buttons.

Mr. Murphy is seen wearing this outfit when he introduces his new song to Curtis (Jamis Foxx). As the track ends, Curtis states it’s a “message song” and it won’t sell. Depressed and frustrated with the feedback, Jimmy reaches for heroin to cope with the pain.

"Dreamgirls," adapted from the Broadway production of the same name, follows the story of the history and evolution of American R&B music during the 1960s and 1970s through the eyes of a girl group known as "The Dreams." The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Eddie Murphy.
