This tuxedo jacket was worn by the character "Fred Ghenoccio" portrayed by actor Cesar Romero in the 1948 motion picture "Julia Misbehaves." The double-breasted tuxedo jacket with heavy faille peaked lapels is constructed of dark navy wool. The interior of the garment has the original Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer label sewn inside with the name "Ceasar (sic) Romero" handwritten in blue ink.

Fred wore the tuxedo during the sequence when he and his mother, leaders of an acrobatic troupe, are invited to dinner at the Packet family estate. As the guests and family relax before diner, Fred announces that he has proposed to their wayward daughter "Julia" (Greer Garson), and then amuses the family with demonstrations of his acrobatic prowess.

"Julia Misbehaves" featured an all-star cast including Walter Pidgeon, Elizabeth Taylor, Peter Lawford, and Nigel Bruce. The film also featured Elizabeth Taylor's first ever on-screen kiss in a scene with Peter Lawford.

The tuxedo coat is in excellent vintage condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
