This Air Force Officer’s uniform was worn by the character "Jim McConnell" portrayed by actor Gary Sinise in Brian DePalma’s 2000 motion picture "Mission To Mars" starring Tim Robbins and Don Cheadle. The costume consists of a dark blue military tunic with matching pants, light blue shirt with shoulder boards, military issue dress belt, black dress shoes, officer’s cap, and tie with stainless steel clasp. The outfit is complete with the insignia and ribbons that were used in the film and has the original costumer’s tag attached listing film title, production company, outfit description, character name “McConnell”, and “Sc. 303 Flashback Wedding”.
Mr. Sinise appears briefly wearing the suit during the scene where McConnell is en route to Mars and watches a video of he and his deceased wife at a party with a group of friends as they screen footage of their wedding ceremony, at which McConnell wore his military dress outfit.
The costume is in excellent screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
