This black tuxedo jacket was worn by the character "Alan Swann," portrayed by legendary actor Peter O'Toole, in the 1982 comedy film, "My Favorite Year." The early 1950's style double-breasted jacket has silk faille on the lapels, breast pocket, and bottom welt pockets, and the interior is lined with patterned red silk. The interior of the garment has the original Western Costume Company label sewn inside with the actor's name "Peter O'Toole" clearly typed.

The tuxedo jacket is clearly seen worn by Mr. O'Toole during the scene when his character is coming down the stairs of his hotel suite, after sleeping off his inebriation, to meet Benjy Stone (Mark Linn-Baker).

"My Favorite Year" follows the story of Benjy Stone (Linn-Baker), a junior comedy writer for a variety show, meeting his idol, swashbuckling washed-up actor, Alan Swann (O'Toole). For the role, Peter O'Toole was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Actor.

The jacket is in excellent screen used condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
