This suit was worn by the character “Champ Kind” portrayed by actor David Koechner in the 2004 cult classic “Anchorman”, starring Will Ferrell. This custom made two-piece single breast blue western suit has two lower flap pockets and flap breast pocket.
Mr. Koechner wears this suit at the end of the film when “Ron Burgundy” (Will Ferrell) assembles his news team after getting a call asking him to report a panda being born at the San Diego Zoo. After arriving at the zoo they see that “Veronica” (Christina Applegate) is trapped in bear pit, Ron and the news team then jump into the pit and fight the bears to save Veronica’s life.
“Anchorman” centers around Ron Burgundy, San Diego’s top rated news anchor in the 1970’s, his world is turned upside down when an ambitious woman, Veronica Corningstone, is hired as his co-anchor. This film is considered one of the funniest films of all time and Ron Burgundy was ranked #26 in Empire magazine’s list of “The 100 Greatest Movie Characters”.
