This black tuxedo jacket was worn by the character “Larry Darrell,” portrayed by actor Tyrone Power, in the 1946 motion picture, “The Razor’s Edge.” This single button black wool tuxedo has two flap pockets at the waist with peak lapels. The 1940’s style tuxedo jacket was custom made for Mr. Power’s use on the film and the interior has various original labels sewn in. Includes a 20th Century Fox studio wardrobe stamp, label of the original custom tailor, and a studio label with the name “T. Power” clearly typed.

The tuxedo jacket is clearly seen worn by Mr. Power’s in the beginning of the film when his character is attending a dinner party at a country club hosted by the supercilious sibling's Elliott Templeton (Clifton Webb) and Louisa Bradley (Lucile Watson).

“The Razor’s Edge," an adaptation on the novel of the same name, follows the adventures of Larry Darrell (Power) as he breaks off his engagement to socialite Isabel Bradley (Gene Tierney), and travels the world seeking enlightenment. When he returns 10 years later, a now married Isabel stops at nothing to get him back. Nominated for four Academy Awards (including Best Picture), the film was Mr. Power’s first feature film following his return from service in the Marine Corp.

The jacket is in good vintage condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used movie wardrobe, props, and collectible music entertainment memorabilia.
