This military hat was worn by the character “Captain Alan King,” portrayed by actor Tyrone Power, in the 1953 motion picture, “King of the Khyber Rifles.” The cream canvas hat has a black brim with a black strap and buttons on front. The interior has the original Western Costume Company label sewn inside with the name “Ty Powers” handwritten in black ink.

Unlike the hat that was primarily worn during indoor scenes, this hat was worn in numerous outdoor scenes as evidenced by its construction. Pinholes are visible around the back rim of the hat from the once attached neck flap, as well as greater studio distress and scuffing.

“King of the Khyber Rifles," based on the novel of the same name, follows the story of Captain Alan King (Power); a Pashtun-born Sandhurst-trained officer, charged with the task of training and commanding the native cavalry. Released by 20th Century Fox, the film was one of the first shot in Technicolor CinemaScope.

The hat is in vintage screen worn condition with extensive signs of studio distress due to use and age. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used movie wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
