This Boston Ambulance E.M.T. uniform was worn by the character “James Coughlin” portrayed by actor Jeremy Renner in the 2010 motion picture “The Town”. The costume consists of a white long sleeve polyester blend shirt by Blauer, navy polyester pants with blue side stripes by Otto, and a navy cap with medical symbol patch. The shirt has the screen used Boston Ambulance patches and the character’s nickname “Jem” handwritten in the collar label. The interior of the cap has the actor/character initial “J” handwritten on the label.
Mr. Renner wore this costume during the extended action sequence when James and his crew attempt a heist at Boston’s Fenway Park. After dressing up as police officers to infiltrate the cash room, the robbers switch into their ambulance uniforms to make their getaway just before the FBI and Boston P.D. show up and foil their plans.
“The Town” was directed and co-written by Ben Affleck and featured outstanding performances by Rebecca Hall, Pete Postlewaite, and Jon Hamm. The film received numerous awards and nominations, and actor Jeremy Renner was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his work on the film.
