This wedding gown was worn by “Barbara Cooper” portrayed by actor Valerie Bertinelli in the television series “One Day At A Time”. The custom made long sleeve wedding gown has a tulle bodice with beaded and sequin floral lace detail, silk ivory crepe skirt, course tulle underskirt with small train, and back zipper closure with faux buttons. Internal “The Wardrobe Wing, Hollywood California” label. A copy of the continuity image is included.

Ms. Bertinelli wore the wedding gown in Season 8 Episode 2 “The Perfect Wedding: Part 2” as “Barbara” marries her fiancé “Mark Royer” (Boyd Gaines). The wedding between “Barbara” and “Mark” is a sweet and loving end to the two-part episode. “Mark” sneaks in the early morning on the wedding day to finish his golf tournament. Marks’ best man accidentally tells “Ann” (Bonnie Franklin) that he might be gone a half hour longer than he promised. With “Barbara” still a nervous wreck, “Ann” decides to withhold this information.

One Day At A Time was an American sitcom developed by Norman Lear broadcasted by CBS from 1975 through 1984. Like so many of Mr. Lear’s productions the series show cased a single working class mother raising her two daughters. Lear including. The show was nominated for 13 Emmy awards, and actress Isabel Sanford who played Louise, won Best Actress in 1981

This garment is in good screen worn condition and was acquired directly from the costume designer and head of the wardrobe department for Embassy TV (formerly TAT/Tandem) Betsey Potter.  The department also supplied wardrobe to Sanford and Son, One Day At A Time, Maude, All in the Family, Good Times, The Jeffersons, and other iconic television shows produced by Norman Lear and Embassy TV.
