This robe was worn by the character “Ali” portrayed by singer/actress Christina Aguilera in the 2010 motion picture “Burlesque” also starring Cher and Stanley Tucci. The knee length garment is constructed of a lightweight pale pink fabric with multicolored floral designs on the front and sleeves, and the back is decorated with a large image of a peacock perching in a natural setting.
The robe was first used onscreen during a scene backstage at the burlesque club when “Sean” (Stanley Tucci) talks with Ali after her performance and assists her into putting on the garment. She next appears wearing it in the following scene when she and the other dancers are changing out of their costumes after the club is closed. An excerpt of the scene was also included in one of the official trailers for the film.
The garment is in very good screen used condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house that provided it for use on the film.
“Burlesque” featured standout performances from both Christina Aguilera and Cher, and the film received two Golden Globe awards in 2011.
