This light burgundy two-piece Western dress with velvet trim was worn by the character, "Lola Montez," portrayed by legendary actress Yvonne De Carlo, in the 1948 motion picture, "Black Bart." The costume consists of a long sleeve blouse with delicate black velvet detailing on the collar, lapels, and sleeves, and a matching floor length underskirt.
Ms. De Carlo wore the dress in several notable scenes of the film, in which she portrays a notorious dance hall performer who plays with the affections of the infamous robber "Black Bart" and one of his old partners. She also appeared wearing the garments together and separately in promotional images for the production.
