This Russian submarine captain uniform was worn by the character Marko Ramius portrayed by screen legend Sean Connery in the 1990 motion picture THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER starring Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, Sam Neil, and James Earl Jones. The uniform consists of a black officer’s jacket with Russian submarine pin on the breast, matching pants, and a furry hat with insignia on the front. This heart pounding action suspense film based on the novel by best selling author Tom Clancy won two Academy Awards in 1990 for Best Effects and Best Sound Effects Editing. The uniform is in excellent screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
