This cream jacket was worn by the character "Lou Hotchkiss" portrayed by legendary comedian Lou Costello in the 1950 motion picture “Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion. Mr. Costello appears wearing the jacket with a white suit near the beginning of the picture when he and "Bud Jones" (Bud Abbott) first arrive in Algeria to look for a wrestler they’re promoting. After a hilarious chase sequence in the outdoor bazaar, the two are tricked into joining the Foreign Legion by the unscrupulous Sergeant Axmann portrayed by Walter Slezak.

The Henry Russo & Brothers jacket with patch pockets was custom tailored for Mr. Costello and is complete with the original tailor’s label inside with the name “Lou Costello” and production date “Apr. 17th, 1950” clearly typed. The garment is in very good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
