This dress was worn by the character “Hedda Hopper” portrayed by Helen Mirren in the 2015 motion picture “Trumbo,” starring Bryan Cranston and co-starring John Goodman. The vintage navy and cream polka dot chiffon dress, long sleeve with pointed cuffs, pleated chiffon skirt, and wide cream leather polka dot belt with a big self-buckle. The material on the buckle is fraying. Attached is the production hold tag with “Hold @ Eastern, #3. Hedda Hopper, Ch. 15” written on the front and “TRUMBO” written on the verso. Also attached is the costumer tag with “Trumbo, 3. Mirren wears this dress when she calls Executive Producer “Ed Muhl” (Mark Harelik) the night of the Spartacus premiere, demanding that he remove “Screen Play by Dalton Trumbo” from the Spartacus credits.

“Trumbo” revolves around screenwriter Dalton Trumbo and the other “Hollywood Ten” artists that were blacklisted in the film industry for their political beliefs. Helen Mirren was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards, and Bryan Cranston was nominated for Best Actor at the 88th Academy Awards.
