These garments were worn by “Julie Cooper” as portrayed by actor Mackenzie Phillips in the television series “One Day At A Time”. The original 1970’s Wilson brand brown leather jacket with oversize collar and brown cotton collar, waist band, and cuffs is accompanied by a vintage Collage Sport brand patchwork vest with plunging neckline, brown floral fabric on the front accented on each side by a dark plaid print and denim back.

Mackenzie wears the vest in Season 2 Episode 7 “David’s New Job” having dinner at the diner with “Barbara” (Valerie Bertinelli). “Barbara” is crushing on a boy in the booth next to them and “Julie” helps get his attention. Later in the episode, “Julie” confronts her sister about being on birth control. Mackenzie wore the vest in Season 2 Episode 10 "A Visit From Dad" when “Julie” and “Barbara” greet their grandfather at the front door and he gives them each an ugly dress as a gift. Later in the episode “Julie” is wearing the jacket while on the phone trying to secure a date for the night. The vintage Collage Sport vest worn again in Season 2 Episode 12 "Happy New Year" when “Julie” is telling her mom and sister about joining the "L.O.G."s (Lamb of God). The leather jacket is also worn in Season 2 Episode 16 "Schneider Loves Ginny"

One Day At A Time was an American sitcom developed by Norman Lear broadcasted by CBS from 1975 through 1984. Like so many of Mr. Lear’s productions the series show cased a single working class mother raising her two daughters. Lear including. The show was nominated for 13 Emmy awards, and actress Isabel Sanford who played Louise, won Best Actress in 1981. This item is in good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Costume Designer.

This garment is in good screen worn condition and was acquired directly from the costume designer and head of the wardrobe department for Embassy TV (formerly TAT/Tandem) Betsey Potter.  The department also supplied wardrobe to Sanford and Son, One Day At A Time, Maude, All in the Family, Good Times, The Jeffersons, and other iconic television shows produced by Norman Lear and Embassy TV.
