This medieval prop shield was used by a one of the “Knights of Camelot” background characters in the motion picture “First Knight”, starring Richard Gere and Sean Connery. The prop shield was custom made for use the in the film and is constructed of fiberglass that was hand painted silver and shaded with black paint by the film’s prop department to create an aged look.
These shields were used in several scenes of the film, most notably during the climactic nighttime battle sequence when King Arthur (Connery) leads his Knights of Camelot into battle to fight against the evil barbarian hordes lead by his foe Prince Malagnant (played by Ben Cross).
The shield is in excellent condition screen used condition and is accompanied by a letter from the costume house.
