This military hat was worn by the character “Captain Alan King,” portrayed by actor Tyrone Power, in the 1953 motion picture, “King of the Khyber Rifles.” The cream canvas hat by Maurice Anderson has a black brim with a black strap and buttons on front. The interior has the original Western Costume Company label sewn inside with the name “Tyrone Power” handwritten in blue ink.

The hat is seen worn by Mr. Power in Brigadier General Maitland’s (Michael Rennie) command quarters during the officer’s meeting. The hat is constructed similarly to other hats worn throughout the film but this particular version is worn indoors without the neck flap.

“King of the Khyber Rifles," based on the novel of the same name, follows the story of Captain Alan King (Power); a Pashtun-born Sandhurst-trained officer, charged with the task of training and commanding the native cavalry. Released by 20th Century Fox, the film was one of the first shot in Technicolor CinemaScope.

The hat is in vintage screen worn condition with signs of studio distress due to use and age. The item comes accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used movie wardrobe, props, and collectible music entertainment memorabilia.
