This coat was worn by the character "Ben Devereaux," portrayed by actor Richard Widmark, in the 1954 western, "Broken Lance." The brown wool frock coat comes with the original Western Costume Company tag sewn inside with the name "Dick Widmark" clearly typed.

Mr. Widmark wore this coat during the courtroom scene when the Devereaux sons stand trial for raiding a copper smelter who had been polluting their water and stealing their land. "Broken Lance," which features Spencer Tracy, Robert Wagner, and Richard Widmark, was nominated for two Academy Awards and won the award for Best Writing in a Motion Picture.

The garment is in very good screen worn condition and has slight wear due to age. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the costume house. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
