These pants were worn by character “Stanley Waltz” portrayed by Jackie Gleason in the 1970 film “How Do I Love Thee?”, co-starring Maureen O’Hara and Shelley Winters. The custom made light purple wool dress pants have a pleated front, belt loops, zip fly, and cuffs. Internal “Western Costume Company” label with “2675-I Jackie Gleason” and “Western Costume Company” stamp. The trousers were a part of Stanley Waltz moving company uniform and were worn throughout the film.

“How do I Love Thee?” is a film adaptation of Peter De Vries’s 1965 novel “Let Me Count the Ways.” Tom” (Rick Lenz), travels to France to see his ill father “Stanley” (Jackie Gleason), and his mother “Elsie” (Maureen O’Hara). Tom tells the story through flashbacks of his childhood and what it was like to grow up with an Atheist father and a born again Christian mother.

The pants are in excellent condition and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the costume house.
