This dress was worn by Karen Sharpe as “Lucy Colfax” in the 1953 “The Vanquished”. The cream and red sheer polka dot period dress has swiss sleeves, ivory sheer sweat heart neckline with stand collar, delicate cream lace and red velvet ribbon detail, beige floral embroidered underskirt, and hook & eye with snap back closure. Internal Paramount label with “KAREN SHARP” (SIC) handwritten and studio dry cleaning tag. Right shoulder has a slight tear and is fragile, the underskirt exhibits two sections of light red stains with light soiling along the hemline. Designed by Edith Head.
Worn in the carriage with Lucy’s family after the hanging.
This dress is in good vintage condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
