This pith helmet was worn by the character "Capt. Jeffrey Claybourne," portrayed by legendary actor Rock Hudson, in the 1954 motion picture, �Bengal Brigade.� The canvas-covered helmet has a pleated cotton band wrapped around the base of the crown, and the interior has the original Western Costume Company label sewn inside with the name �Rock Hudson� handwritten in red ink.
Mr. Hudson wore this pith helmet in numerous scenes after he is forced to resign his army commission and becomes a big game hunter in the North West Frontier of India. He also wore the helmet in several promotional images for the film.
