| This prop scimitar was used onscreen by a background evil ninja character in the 1997 motion picture “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation”. This was one of a limited number of prop weapons that were custom made for use on the production and the item is constructed of a large curved steel blade mounted on a dense rubber handle wrapped with faux leather strapping.
Several of these scimitars are seen prominently onscreen near the opening scene where the evil Outworld forces lead by "Shao Kahn" (Brian Thompson) drop out of the sky and wreak havoc on the temple where the Mortal Kombat heroes reside. Additional ninjas appear wielding these scimitars in numerous other shots during the ensuing confrontation, and then in several other sequences later in the film as Shao Kahn’s evil forces attempt to destroy the Earth and are eventually foiled by the efforts of "Lord Rayden" (James Remar) and the Mortal Kombat heroes.
The prop weapon is in good hand distressed condition as seen in the film with some minor evidence of wear that occurred during its use in the extended martial arts sequences. There are some minor traces of aged foam rubber clinging to the blade as the result of storage after filming on the production had ended. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
