This dress was worn by Bette Davis in the 1978 - TV mini-series “The Dark Secret of Harvest Home”. The black cotton home spun dress was custom made by Barbara Matera LTD New york Miss. Internal Davis typed in black ink and Dry Cleaning tag pink #560.
Miss Davis wears the dress throughout the entire series, with a black shawl that is not included. While Barbara Matera is not listed on IMDB Pro as working in the costume department of "Dark Secret of Harvest Home", she designed wardrobe for Ms. Davis' previous film in 1978, "Death on the Nile" (unaccredited). Barbara Matera designed clothes for Gloria Swanson, Katharine Hepburn, Claudette Colbert, Bette Davis, Ethel Merman, Lauren Bacall, Raquel Welch, Carol Channing, Barbra Streisand, Lena Horne and Hillary Clinton inaugural ball gown worn at the White House. .
