This sweater was worn by the character “Bluto” portrayed by acter Paul L. Smith in the 1980 Disney/Paramount production of “Popeye”. This heavy cable knit blue sweater was custom made for the film. There were multiples made for Mr. Smith and this garment was most likely worn in the water fight scenes with Robin Williams. This sweater has small holes around the collar, and has an internal label with “BLUTO” hand written in faded ink.
