This suit was worn by the character “Worthington Higgenmacher” played by Rudy Vallee in the 1954 comedy, “Ricochet Romance”. This vintage 1950’s custom made wool suit includes labels inside the jacket breast pocket, and the waistline of the pants with the actor’s name “Rudy Vallee”, date “2-1-54”, No “5865” and “5869”, typed beneath the manufacturer’s name “Lobell & Son”. Several “UNIV-INTL WARDROBE” and “2A 101” stamps are located within the jacket and pants, in addition to that are handwritten “72” and “Mr. M”.

Mr. Vallee can be seen wearing this suit prominently in several scenes throughout the film. Most notably, while in front of a truck with Manuel Gonzáles (Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez) who has pretended that his car engine failed in order to force Worthington and other guests of the “Flying W Ranch” to return. Mr. Vallee is featured wearing this suit in the promotional images for the film.

Ricochet Romance is a comedy directed by Kay Lenard, starring Chill Wills, Marjorie Main, Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez and Rudy Vallee. It tells the story of Ranch owner Tom Williams (Chill Wills) who struggles to satisfy his guests due to his disruptive shenanigans, but when the new cook Pansy Jones arrives, the guests are entranced and the love triangles go spinning. This item is in good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
