This pair of Ray Ban sunglasses were worn by Jack Weil (Robert Redford) in the 1990 motion picture “Havana”. The glasses were purchased specifically for Mr. Redford for use in this production. The glasses have gold frames and dark lenses.
Mr. Redford can be seen wearing these glasses throughout the film and most notably when his character Jack realizes that he loves Roberta (Lena Olin) and goes driving into the interior of Cuba to search for her at Dr. Duran’s (Raúl Juliá) old estate. Also later when Jack walks on a pier while he arranges for a boat out of Cuba.
Sydney Pollack directed “Havana” with his brother Bernie Pollack designing the costumes. Bernie designed costumes for two thousand extras and nearly ten thousand costume changes. The old town of Havana was recreated in the Dominican Republic with the main set measuring a quarter of a mile long. This item is in very good screen worn condition and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
