This light blue gray vertically striped period nurse’s dress with puffed shoulders was worn by the character Nan Rogers portrayed by actress Veronica Lake in the 1946 motion picture “Miss Susie Slagle’s” starring Lillian Gish and Lloyd Bridges. Ms. Lake wore the garment in multiple scenes throughout the picture when Nan, a nursing intern, goes about her rounds at the hospital. The costume is in good screen worn condition although the original buttons are missing and the collar and cuffs were slightly modified for use in a later production. This outfit was acquired directly from Paramount Pictures and is in good screen worn condition with the original Paramount label sewn inside and the name “Veronica Lake” handwritten in slightly faded ink.
