This costume was worn by the character “Jack Weil” portrayed by legendary actor Robert Redford in Sydney Pollack’s 1990 motion picture epic “Havana”, starring Lena Olin and Alan Arkin. The two piece custom made tan suit has a notch lapel, three patch pockets, two button front closure, and pleated pant with cuff. Internal Western Costume jacket label with " 2208-1, Robert Redford, Chest 41, Sleeve 17 1/2, 2A, #1". Internal Western Costume pant label with "2208-1, Robert Redford, Waist 32, Inseam 32 1/2, 3A". Costume tag attached with "1, R.R. Jack, Chg #2, Chg #6". Navy blue rayon short sleeve shirt with internal "Venice Custom Shirts Nov. 89" and costumer tag with " 1, R.R. JACK, Chg #2, Sc. 53-54, Modest Casino Lido Chg # 5, Sc 100-102 Florida Barber Shop" attached. Navy blue cotton button down dress shirt with internal "Nat Wise" and "R R January 1990" labels and costume tag attached with "1, R.R. Jack, Chg #2, Chg #6 2/3".

The tan suit and short sleeve dress shirt were worn in scenes 53-64; Jack’s Apartment, Old Chinese Street, Modest Casino gambling.

Mr. Redford wore the tan suit in scenes 104 – 106; Hotel Suite Poker Game, 112; Prison Office, 117; Exterior Prison, 118 - 120; Café On Melacon, 121-123; Arturo’s house, 108; Hotel Suite.

The long sleeve dress shirt was worn in scenes 13-28; Ship and Auto Dock, 29-35; Ferry Dock and Customs, 37-48; Casa Del Sol, Hotel Resort District, Casino Floor, Hotel Room, Old Havana Streets, and interior Jack’s Apartment Building.

Sydney Pollack directed “Havana”, and his brother Bernie Pollack designed the costumes. Bernie had to outfit 2,000 extras and needed nearly 10,000 costumes for frequent changes during the film. The old town of Havana was recreated in the Dominican Republic with the main set measuring nearly a quarter of a mile long, taking 20 weeks to create. These garments are in very good screen worn condition and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
