This hero bullet proof vest was worn by the character “Jack Bauer” portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland in the iconic television series “24”. This police issue Kevlar vest manufactured by “Second Chance”, is one of only three “Hero” vests that were worn on camera. Mr. Sutherland favored this particular vest and wore it throughout the filming of all eight seasons. Unlike the back up hero vests, this vest shows prominent signs of wear including make up residue, small tear in the elastic shoulder strap, internal sweat stains, and tape residue from the wireless microphone. There is a visible small tear located on the front pocket, which occurred when Kiefer jumped over a fence filming a stunt sequence.
As a method actor, Mr. Sutherland enjoyed the weight and feel of the vest to stay in character, and even wore it on set breaks while playing chess. The actor is also featured wearing the vest in the book “24: Behind The Scenes” and promotional images for Season 8.
The vest is in excellent screen worn condition and accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the property master.
