This costume was worn by the character “Kelly Bundy” portrayed by actress Christina Applegate in the television series “Married… with Children”. This two-piece blue and white gingham consists of a short crop top with white puff sleeves, matching mini skirt, and red glitter “Sexy Dorothy” shoes with sequined bows. The shoes are stored in the original production used box with “Sexy Dorothy Wizard of Oz Christina Applegate” hand written on the exterior.
Ms. Applegate wears the “Sexy Dorothy” costume in Season 11 Episode 1 “Twisted”. During the episode, Bud (David Faustino) discovers that life-threatening situations make woman hot! Bud attempts to create a fake tornado by using fans. When a real tornado hits Chicago, the Bundy and Jefferson families take cover in the Bundy basement, Bud is trapped with a bunch of horny woman. The epilogue of the episode features Kelly Bundy (Christina Applegate) dressed as a “sexy Dorothy” standing next to a scarecrow talking about the gifts they received from the Wizard Of OZ. The scarecrow emphatically states “I got a brain" while Kelly embarrassingly says “all I got from the Wizard was a physical".
Married… with Children was an American sitcom broadcasted on Fox from 1987 through 1997. The series revolves around the lives of a dysfunctional family living in the suburbs of Chicago.
