This “San Angeles Police Department” officer’s uniform was worn by the character “Lenina Huxley” portrayed by actress Sandra Bullock in the 1993 motion picture “Demolition Man” starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. The uniform consists of a black San Angeles Police Department button front shirt with S.A.P.D. patch and insignia on the sleeves, shoulder, and collar, a pair of black stretch pants with ankle stirrups and patches at the knees, and a black leather belt with silver and gold metallic trim. The shirt was made by Anto Shirtmakers of Beverly Hills and has the character name “Lenina” handwritten in slightly faded white ink. The interior of the pants have an unidentified actor/character name written inside from use in a separate production and the belt has “Lenina, Street Womens Med.” handwritten in white ink.
This was Huxley’s signature uniform worn in multiple scenes of the film as she and her fellow members of the S.A.P.D. try to capture the notorious criminal “Simon Phoenix” (played by Wesley Snipes). The uniform is in distressed condition from its use in numerous action sequences. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
